Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a group of severe and rare genetic disorders, with no existing cure. Patients with the most severe forms of EB suffer from widespread blistering resulting in painful chronic wounds. These lesions are source of infection and severe handicap for patients and can cover up to 70% of body surface.
There are four major types of EB: simplex, dystrophic, junctional and Kindler syndrome, characterised by trauma-induced skin and mucosal dissociation.
