Ischemic stroke

Stroke occurs when blood supply to an area of the brain is disrupted, resulting in oxygen starvation, brain damage and loss of functions. The two main types are: Ischemic strokes (~85%) and Haemorrhagic strokes (15%).

Stroke is the second leading cause of disability: 40% of stroke survivors live with disabilities.
